# Clarify BYOK Usage in AI Gateway Terms

Hi Vercel Team,

I was reading through the AI Product Terms here: [https://vercel.com/legal/ai-product-terms](https://vercel.com/legal/ai-product-terms), especially Section 8 about AI Gateway.

It says that with an Enterprise subscription, Vercel won’t use AI Gateway Customer Content to train or improve AI Products and Services. But it’s not clear what happens in **BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)** scenarios if you *don’t* have Enterprise.

Does the same guarantee apply for BYOK, or could that content still be used for training?

It would be super helpful if the Terms or docs could be updated to make this point clearer.

Thanks!

The team will update documentation for clarity. The updated document isn't ready yet, but they let me know that:

> Vercel does not train on any data for AI Gateway for any customers of any tier for BYOK or otherwise. Vercel does not have any plans to use customer content from AI Gateway for any training unless the customer opts-in. As to third-party LLM providers, it is the customer's responsibility to review and understand the terms for the providers that they select, which are listed in our Notices and License Information ([NLI](https://vercel.com/legal/notices-and-license-information)).

I hope that helps!
