# Domain Stuck on Invalid SSL/Cipher

I am having an issue where my custom subdomain is showing a severe SSL error, even though the configuration is marked as valid in the dashboard and the CNAME record has fully propagated.

* **Domain:** `italy7percent.caesartheday.com`

* **Target CNAME:** `943a5e82c88b3b18.vercel-dns-017.com`

**Problem Details:**

1. The Vercel dashboard shows the domain configuration is **Valid** (or is stuck on **Generating SSL Certificate**).

2. In the browser, the site fails to load with the error: **`ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH`**. This suggests the Vercel edge is serving an incorrect or expired certificate (likely a fallback).

3. I have confirmed via external DNS checkers that the correct CNAME record is propagating globally.

4. I have **removed and re-added** the domain in my project settings multiple times to re-trigger the SSL issuance.

5. There are **no CAA records** on the root domain that would block Let's Encrypt.

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for [bonus points](https://community.vercel.com/t/introducing-the-vercel-leaderboard/1358).

You can also use [v0](https://v0.dev/) to narrow down the possibilities.
