So I Built a Hydration Coach With V0 and AI tools 145 views · 12 likes · 6 posts Anil J (@aniljindia-5007) · 2025-07-02 · ♥ 3 First, big shout out to the V0 team for making this tool. Has helped me solve a personal pain point in a fun and engaging way! Context: After a recent trip, I felt off and swelled up on my left leg! The culprit? **Sodium overload + not enough water.** But no app I found could help me *hydrate dynamically*—based on what I drink, eat, or need. So I Vibe coded **Sip Pal**, the FIRST  AI hydration coach with AI tools starting in Vercel’s V0! It’s not just a water logger: • 🧠 Adjusts your hydration goal in real time by your weight, your intake (beyond water) and activity level • 🧂 Factors in sodium from meals (just take a pic and calls Gemini API) Go over 2300 mg a day and your water goal goes up  • 💬 Personalized Coaching and tips based on your wellness goal (energy, focus, digestion, etc.) • 🟢 Drinks that hydrate are green, 🔴 dehydrating ones are red Someone actually asked: “So if I drink 6 beers, I hit my water goal?” 😅 Not quite—each beer *dehydrates* you by 6oz. That comment led to a key UX update. 👉 Try the mobile PWA: https://hydration-tracking.vercel.app/welcome Pro tips: Add it to your home screen on your phone and tap it like an app. Add your custom water bottle! Have fun and stick with it. Ive experienced sharper focus, better work outs and overall energy without coffee binges! 📲 Eventually will get this to Test flight so i can add nudges/ notifications — DM me if you want early access to the beta On using V0: great for rapid ideation, probably best UI iterations than the other tools out there. Struggled with anything related to gemini integration and db things. Lots of bugs and I spent valuable credits going in circles with the V0 agent. ⸻ 💬 Would love your take: • Does this “hydration coach” idea resonate? • What would make it genuinely useful ? • Anything good, bad, ugly ? Feel free to leave and comments on this post. happy to jam! Also Im doing evals, testing which LLMs build better features across Claude, GPT-4, and SWE-1. Happy to share insights if that’s of interest too! -Anil RB (@rongomaibailey-4125) · 2025-07-07 · ♥ 3 this is great. intuitive ui. would be i would use give it a try, but I'm not familiar with imperial measurements... i have to convert the oz to mls would also be cool to have a cognitive impairment indicator as the decline is huge.... [I got an ai to do some research](https://www.perplexity.ai/search/what-cognitive-impairment-occo-xRQBj4arScG6R9iR4F1p7g) best to check this data yourself tho BestCodes (@bestcodes) · 2025-07-13 · ♥ 2
• Does this “hydration coach” idea resonate?
It doesn't resonate with me personally... I know a lot of people would download an app like this! But me personally, if I wanted something like this, I would find maybe an all-in-one health app that tracked this _and_ other things instead of just hydration. That said, I do love the UI and how the web app feels in general! I just have one main concern. A link to an official data source (like Wikipedia or research papers) to support this would help me trust it more: I wouldn't trust AI or what an app tells me about healthy hydration habits unless it can back up its claims! --- Great job @aniljindia-5007! Anil J (@aniljindia-5007) · 2025-07-15 · ♥ 1 Thank you for sharing. I think this makes sense. Basically a very relatable way to connect the value of staying hydrated to your individual brain function  Anil J (@aniljindia-5007) · 2025-07-15 · ♥ 2 thanks for sharing! makes sense!
