We’ve updated Vercel’s Pro plan to better match how modern teams work.

## **What’s new**

* **Flexible credit** – $20/month usage credit to spend however you want.
* **Free Viewer seats** – Bring your whole team in; pay only for Developer seats ($20/mo).
* **Enterprise features, self-serve** – SAML SSO and HIPAA BAA now available directly in Pro.
* **Spend management by default** – Alerts enabled automatically to avoid surprises.

## **Why**

* Predictable, flexible usage
* Only pay for seats that ship code
* Unlock more features without contracts
* Get notified before unexpected costs

**Available now** for new Pro customers; existing teams can opt in today.

Will these changes impact the ability to set a spending cap (the “pause all your projects at a certain amount” option) ?

https://vercel.com/docs/spend-management#pausing-projects

Only double checking because one of the main reasons I use Vercel as a cloud provider is that I don’t have to worry about accidentally finding myself with an astronomical AWS bill (you know — the horror stories that generally get attention on social media)

Thanks in advance! I appreciate the work you guys do 🙂

This rocks  Thank you!

Specifically for HIPAA - I looked all over the settings pages and didn’t see an option for this. Has this not rolled out yet?

This doesn’t affect the ability to use Spend Management.

It should be available already. Have you switched to new `Pro` plan ? https://vercel.com/docs/plans/pro-plan/switching

Ah! That was it, I was on Pro but hadn’t switched to the new Pro. Thanks much - all set now!

I received an email notification that I would be paying more. I’m fine with that, Vercel is a great deal for me, happy to pay more. That said, I’m trying to work out how much I will pay and it is not clear. For example, if I go to my usage for the last few days, here’s what I see:

![Screenshot 2025-09-11 at 05.42.13|690x396](upload://zLIcjh2twPwY54TBJ3ApQrD1wa1.png)

I think what I need to do is go to vercel.com/pricing and then cross reference the numbers but I can’t find “Function Duration” on the pricing page. I seem to get 1K GB Hrs per month included and I can’t find any pricing items that show the 1K GB Hrs per month included either. For things that are already in on-demand usage (e.g: “Function Invocations”) I can reverse engineer it (e.g: 300k = $0.6 so 1m = $2 meaning under new pricing 1.3m would be $2.60) but otherwise I feel lost.

Could you add an additional column for people on the old pricing showing what they *would* pay for their previous / current usage under the new pricing? or even just display the per unit cost for items even when they’re not yet running into on-demand usage?

Thanks!

edit: ah it looks like I’m on “[Legacy Pricing](https://vercel.com/docs/functions/usage-and-pricing/legacy-pricing)” which is described in the documentation, and that’s why the pricing page doesn’t match up, so perhaps I’m an edge-case and others will not encounter this confusion.

With the flexible pricing, is it possible that my credit usage is below $20? Will it still charge at least $20 from my card?

Swarnava Sengupta (@swarnava) · 2025-09-11

Yes, since the Developer / Owner seat will cost you $20 per month and your paid team will have atleast 1 owner.

Than De (@than-de) · 2025-09-11

But then I can use up less than $20 in credits within a month, right? And the remaining credits of each month carry to the next and some time in the future I can skip on a monthly payment because I already have $20 in credits - does that make sense?

Amy Egan (@amyegan) · 2025-09-11 · ♥ 3

> Every Pro plan comes with $20 in monthly credit. You can use your monthly credit across all infrastructure resources. Once you have used your monthly credit, Vercel bills additional usage on-demand.

> The credit and allocations expire at the end of the month if they are not used, and are reset at the beginning of the following month.

More info in the docs: https://vercel.com/docs/plans/pro-plan#monthly-credit

Where to add these new Analytics Viewer Seats? We upgraded the pricing plan but can’t find the new settings.

Amy Egan (@amyegan) · 2025-09-16 · ♥ 2

You can add [viewers](https://vercel.com/docs/rbac/access-roles#pro-viewer-role) in team settings :slightly_smiling_face:

This looks like a solid update really like the idea of flexible credits and free viewer seats, it makes the plan feel much more team-friendly. The spend management alerts are also a nice touch to avoid surprise bills. For reference, the breakdown of the monthly credit in the Pro plan is well detailed here: [https://vercel.com/docs/plans/pro-plan#monthly-credit](https://vercel.com/docs/plans/pro-plan#monthly-credit). Excited to see how this works in practice.

Tadeu Maia (@tadeumaia) · 2025-09-24

My usage is skyrocketing since I change to the new pro model!

Amy Egan (@amyegan) · 2025-09-25 · ♥ 1

That's unexpected since usage measurements weren't changed. Is it a particular metric that's higher than normal? I'd like to look into it

tt2d (@tilen-2082) · 2025-10-02

I switched to new plan and found out prices for raised from $20 to $60 in our example. Thats 300% increase which we are not following through with it and switching platforms.

Amy Egan (@amyegan) · 2025-10-02

Was there a particular area where you saw the greatest increase? I'd like to rule out any metric reporting bugs or one-time events that could have led to an increase

Sy Zygy (@sy-zygy) · 2025-10-09 · ♥ 2

Our bill is increasing over 4x month to month with almost the same amount of usage.

This is primarily driven by a 4.3x increase in function duration cost $0.042 → $0.18/GB-hr which is a very steep increase.

I don't think we can afford this new pricing plan

Jasdeep Garcha (@jasdeepg) · 2025-10-09 · ♥ 3

@sy-zygy have you enabled Fluid compute? We recommend you do so for all of your projects to take advantage of Active CPU pricing. https://vercel.com/docs/plans/pro-plan/switching#ensure-fluid-compute-is-enabled

For all new projects/teams, this is enabled by default; however, existing teams must opt-in in project settings.

Caveman43 (@caveman43) · 2025-11-21

I agree with you and that is happening to me as well. From $20 a month bill to $160 in 9 days. Were you able to solve this issue?

Admin - FantasyNexus (@admin-3554) · 2025-11-24

Hey guys, we were paying around 25$/month and now due to function duration, we are paying double.

Can anyone help us understand why? Thanks.

Same experience here, and it’s not good business. I just bought more credits twice in the last two days that are already used up and now I am dead in the water unless purchase more. The same amount of credits before lasted me a month. There are countless posts about this all over this forum. The AI tool is apparently written this way to suck more $ out of users. The tool was amazing when it first started. This company cannot sustain this current model and be successful in the long run. Vercel Team, you need a new pricing structure that makes sense for your users. You are going to price yourself out of the AI space. Come back in a few years and reread this. Mark this post. The exponential growth of AI is going to make you go obsolete. Please, to keep users on this platform, consider a new pricing model. I might as well pay a dedicated web designer at this point. You took a good thing and basically ruined it. Do the right thing.

TJ (@tvjames) · 2026-02-03

So, if we’re paying based on usage now, why are we still being charged $20 per additional team member?

Understandable when it wasn’t usage based (as much) but surely now any increase from team members deploying more, additional load is covered by the increase in usage costs? For example, I’m deploying more - so I’m paying more for CI build time.
