A Love Letter to Vercel (Only Slightly Unhinged)

Dear Vercel(ians),

I don’t know how to say this without sounding weird, so I’m just going to say it: you complete me.

Eight months ago I set out to wrap my arms around this “new AI thing,” and there you were—patient, generous, asking nothing in return. You believed in me when my code didn’t work. You hosted my failures without judgment. You never once said “I told you so” when my third experimental project in a week crashed on deploy.

Because everything starts free, I took risks I never would have otherwise. Normally, stack a database here, an OAuth provider there, and suddenly every misstep costs real money. But you? You just smiled and said “try again.” Like some kind of mass market cloud services angel.

I’ve shipped useful stuff. Trivial stuff. Things that should never have seen the light of day. You hosted all of it with the same quiet dignity.

These days I’m actually paying you small amounts—and honestly? It feels right. These are working projects now, real things that do real work, and I never would have gotten here without the runway you gave me at the start.

So thank you, Vercel. For everything. I promise I’m not outside your office right now.

(I am, though. Look out the window.)

Love,
Wim

p.s. Is it just me?
