Account migrated to v0.app - all data lost

Hi folks, this is very infuriating!

My account seems to have been migrated to v0.app. Why?

I had multiple projects which are actively maintained from prototypes of my products, landing pages, even presentations. Everything is gone. My account has been completely reset. I was a paying member for a long time, now it shows me I am on free tier with absolutely no projects and chat history.

I even received an email welcoming me to v0.

I have been using v0 for 9 months or so, I had all my front end stuff here. Not all my projects are in git, for example the presentations are not. And even for the ones that are, I should not waste who knows how long to restore everything myself.

Please restore my account. My projects depend on this and since this happened once already, if it doesn’t get fixed, I will not have the confidence to continue using it as I can’t take the risk of waking up one morning and everything is gone. I am a solo founder juggling a lot of tasks and I need stability in the tools I use.

Yes, it’s the only one I have.

Your account shows created in May (4 months ago), the most likely scenario is something weird happened and you ended up with a second account by accident

The GitHub account attached to this one publicly appears almost completely empty except for a single commit 8 months ago

Do you have anything published to Vercel or v0, or have a chat URL in your browser history (or maybe in a messaging you sent someone) that we can use to look up where it originated?

@jacobparis that doesn’t sound right.

I just checked my bank account, the oldest transaction I have is from 25.10.2024. That’s since I’ve been paying for v0. As soon as I tried it for the first time and hit the first limit I upgraded and I have been using it since. So it’s actually 10 months. It can’t be that my account was created in May. That single commit 8 months ago also makes no sense.

I don’t have anything deployed with Vercel, I do my own deployments. I Use v0 as coding buddy, but I have my own setup with Docker and GCP.

I did explore some things in the past but never really liked it and prefer to have control over the infrastructure (it seems I am right about this one)

I had three tabs open with a few projects I update more frequently. Those tabs have been there for months.

I do small incremental changes so it really helps that v0 has the history context and versions. Then I take the changes, review them and copy to my local. Very simple.

Last week, in one of the tabs I asked for a change and I got an error. I tried again, error. So I reloaded the tab. When I reloaded the tab, the whole thing redirected to v0.app (used to be v0.dev), to the main page and everything was empty. No projects, no history, no chats, nothing.

I thought you were doing some upgrade and you might be migrating accounts and data. These things are not easy. So I waited a few days before posting this.

So, what action items do we have here?

Ok I was able to look up the author of that chat ID and I can see the active v0 premium subscription there

You’re currently signed into the community with github/gmail but that account is under your personal email address (beginning with me)

If you try logging into v0 with that you should be able to see all your data again
