Angry / happy with v0

Hey Amy, sorry for so late reply…

So, yes, I’m quite angry / happy with v0. Let me try to break it down to see if I can show my perspective properly.

When I started to have the idea I created here with v0 (which I’m really thankful for creating really a good chunk of the application and everything) I was really happy and thrilled to finally bringing my application to life. You know? I’m very thankful for v0. But, as the application grow, the ML used in v0 started to hallucinate… A LOT!!!. And this made me going much more backwards than forward, having to click ‘Fix with v0’ all the time, messing a lot with what was good and working perfectly, even with it was a simple import, the ML literally messed with a really good part of the code, and this kind of situation is quite bad, not only to grow the application itself but financially speaking. Each ‘Fix with v0’ cost cheap but, if I have to click it several and several times and be charged for v0 mistakes it isn’t a really good idea. Look at Tempo for example, they don’t charme for their ML mistakes

Which is good, because this won’t make me fear asking something and break everything else. In the first month building my application here, I spent whole $20 I had here and had to spend more $20 to make the application get back on its place… which it isn’t really the best approach, I think. Now i’m on the second month here on v0 (going to the 3rd one) and I haven’t spent much since

as you can see.

That’s why I created a topic asking for a ETA to new v0 ML version. Because I don’t wanna spend more time and money in something that I know it will make (probably) spend much more going back and forth.

So, to sum up, yes, I am angry with v0 but also happy. I cannot tell, at this moment, what is the exact feeling. And most likely this is the reason I stopped using here and started doing everything by myself here on vscode. And probably, if I don’t see any changes by next week, most likely I will stop paying here and move my ideias to other places like Lovable or Tempo, at least to bootstrap my newer applications and then, I move forward from there.

I come here every single day, refresh my v0 page to see if the ML version has changed, so I can try it out and also here in Announcements, to check if there is any related news to that. But, what I only see is people showing their ideas coming to life and stuff.

Even OpenAI gives us some updates and feedbacks regarding ETA and stuff, why Vercel cannot do the same? 3 months by now could have, at least, one update, even a minor one, v0-1.5-xx to v0-1.6-xx, so at least we will know it is happening some updates or something and not just swallowing money and spending in another areas, which would be a bummer.

So Pauline, this is my current issue with v0. I really hope i could descant my current feelings towards v0.

Thanks for coming back to share your experience. I moved your comment to Feedback because I think it deserves its own thread.

I’m not sure a new model version is the answer to all your problems. And there’s not likely to be a new one available by your deadline next week.

However, I have some strategies to help with the errors and unintended code changes:

Runtime Error Consistent and does not resolve

If an AI model implements a feature for you with errors, and one bug fix attempt doesn’t work, I usually roll back and ask for the feature again.
