App theme design prompts

Hi everyone, I’m struggling right now to get V0 to apply a nice theme to my app, it looks like a generic theme and V0 can’t apply my prompt. I’ve previously had success with theme layouts and design prompts but for some reason, despite multiple prompts, supplying images of sites of apps that I like, I’m really stuck on the generic V0 look and feel. Any great prompts that can uplift the visuals or at lease match other apps as a great starting point? I’ve tried to get help from ChatGPT but no real difference in the quality of the output.

Hi, Marcus!

Could you share some example chats with us or screenshots (before and after)? It'd be super helpful to share this with the team.

In case it's helpful, we also have some community content for prompt advice.

I also recommend:

Upload reference images and ask v0 to “match this visual style”
Break down complex designs into smaller components first
Use design terminology like “card-based layout,” “sidebar navigation,” or “hero section”
Specify exact colors using hex codes when possible

The key is being extremely specific rather than using generic terms like “nice” or “modern.”

Hi Pauline, thanks for reaching out, let me grab some screenshots, I’ll try the community content prompt advice too!
