Blob Data Transfer: When does it reset?

I hit my Blob Data Transfer limit of 10 GB on my Hobby plan. How can I find out specifically what is causing my limit to be reached? It’s very confusing to me because I only have a small amount of usage this month (July).

Current behavior:

Right now I see a banner that says:

You have reached your usage limits for this store using the Hobby plan. Access resumes on 8/1/25.

This doesn’t make sense since I just started working on my project again this month, which only has been a total of 63 MB. (July 2nd as I’m writing this). I would have expected my limit to reset on July 1st. So why am I over 10 GB already?

Expected behavior

Once I hit the new month (July in this case), my usage is reset.

Project information (URL, framework, environment, project settings):

  • Hobby plan
  • Using Blob Store
  • Confirmed it’s my Blob Data Transfer limit:

This is really confusing. Thanks for any insight/clarification!

Hi @megaroeny, thanks for reaching out here about this. Let me answer your questions:

  • How to find what caused the limit to be reached?
You can open Observability > Blob > YOUR_BLOB, as shown in the image below:

There you can find details of which file is causing the most usage. Usually it is a video or high quality image file.

  • When does the usage reset?
To quote from the Vercel Blob hobby pricing docs:

you will have to wait until 30 days have passed before using Blob storage again.

So in this case you will have to wait until 8/1/25 because your 10GB quota was reached at the start of July.

I hope this was helpful.

Ah okay! Well, from what it’s showing me, my entire Blob Store is only 139 MB. And unfortunately, I can’t see past 12 hours for the stats, because I’m on the free/Hobby plan.

The few videos I do have in my storage are 40 MB max, so they’re not huge. I guess I have no choice but to observe (no pun intended) the usage when August comes around. If I keep running into issues, I’ll probably have to upgrade I guess.

@anshumanb so now my Blob Usage has gone down since July 1st. It still didn’t completely reset for whatever reason, and additionally my media is now showing “Your store is blocked” if I try to open the URL I use in my code project for those media files.

What’s going on? Is there a bug? Here’s my usage:

Additionally, when I go to my Blob Storage, I now see this (saying it resets to the next month, previously was 7/1):

Observability only shows ~70 MB of usage this month:

Can your support team please look into my account and fix this? Thank you!

I also tried creating a Case, but for some reason I don’t see a button to actually submit it. Why? Is it because I’m on a free plan? :frowning:

Hi @megaroeny, I’m suspecting it is because you limits reset on 1 August, as shown in the banner at the top of your screenshot. Based on the pricing docs the access is blocked when limits are hit.

About support: Email Support is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.

Interesting… because I didn’t use my site for almost a month (its not “publicly” available yet), and then it says my reset is now the next month 8/1. Said same thing last month. Seems weird. I might end up leaving Vercel if this continues and use something else.

@anshumanb Can you explain why my Usage and Observability both say I’m below my limit, yet my Blob Storage says I’m over? Can you not see how this is confusing?
