Domain: chef-online.ru / www.chef-online.ru Project: media-chef-landing Account: evenia110794-lab (Hobby plan)
Problem: In every browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox — including incognito, on two different Macs) the page hangs indefinitely loading www.chef-online.ru. No error, no result, just infinite loading.
What works fine:
- curl -v to all 8 Vercel IPs — instant success, valid TLS cert, correct 308 redirect to www, HTTP/2 200
- Official vercel-debug.sh script — all 8 IPs respond perfectly, ping 0% packet loss
- pagespeed.web.dev (real Chrome on Google's servers) — loads in 0.6s, Performance 99/100
Key finding: the local ISP's DNS resolver (Beeline, Krasnodar, Russia) sometimes times out resolving the domain:
; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> chef-online.ru ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
But the same query via Google DNS (8.8.8.8) resolves instantly:
; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> chef-online.ru .8.8.8 ;; Got answer: ;; ANSWER SECTION: chef-online.ru. 1800 IN A 216.198.79.65 chef-online.ru. 1800 IN A 64.29.17.1 ;; Query time: 66 msec
However — even after manually switching system DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and fully flushing DNS cache, the browser STILL hangs on every browser tested. This suggests the browser may be using a different DNS resolution path than the system resolver.
Also tried: VPN (works fine for every other site, but chef-online.ru still hangs even through VPN) — this rules out regional ISP filtering as the sole cause.
DNS setup: NS records point to ns1/ns2.vercel-dns.com, domain registered via reg.ru (NS delegated to Vercel).
Has anyone seen this pattern before, or does anyone from Vercel know if this could be related to how Vercel's edge network handles DNS/routing for end users? We have a product launch in 2 days and need to figure out if this is fixable or just a local network issue.
