Changes lost

Hi,

I made a new project to check out vercel which i published 6 days ago on the free tier. 2 days ago i made some changes like updating some code and data jsons and installed a new react package . I ran npm install in terminal and went to sleep. Today when i login , all my changes of that day are lost. My project is not connected to a git yet.

Is is normal for unpublished changes to be lost when browser session expires? (I did not close browser, just refreshed the window today as it was disconnected.)

so you made changes in v0 and they went through (as in it finished) and you just didnt publish? I wouldnt think anything should be lost just because you didnt publish.

Or are you saying your browser closed or session expired while the prompt updates were still being created / finished?

No, it's unlikely that you lose any changes when browser session expires.

Can you share your actual v0 chat so we can take a look?

Hi, no i didnt close browser. I just didnt go back to that tab for a long time. When i came back the session had expired so i refreshed the window. As mentioned above, i ran npm install npm i react-social-media-embed and went afk . After i came back and refershed the window I dont see the package installed or my previous changes.

I m not sure how to share chat so attaching a ss. Hope it helps. The changes made by the last chat message are present. Its the changes i made in code specifically that are lost. For example as you can see in the ss i used the chat to update a data json with a list of links i provided. I was out of credits so i used chatgpt to update the json myself and copied it into code. I also made some other changes in code like adding more buttons. I also installed a npm package - npm i react-social-media-embed . I went afk while the install was running. Then i checked the tab the next day . The session had expired and so i refreshed it and saw all last night changes after that chat missing.

I shared with pauline. I also found some other change lost that are even deployed. For example my project is live at www.filmyfarmer.com . The changes(update pics) are visible. But in the latest code the changes are lost/reverted to original.

The 2nd screenshot is the correct version with my lost changes that was deployed. The 1st screenshot is what was showing in the editor as the latest but didnt show my changes. SInce then i have attached a git and re-deployed.

Here a summary of the timeline -

I made changes (updated images, added new files). I made dns changes to point to my domain and deployed (clicked Publish button on top right corner).
I make more changes(updated hardcoded jsons with links) . I run npm install in terminal to add new dependency and go inactive.
I refresh my browser tab next day. All changes made in step 1 and 2 are lost. The changes in step 1 are still visible in production deployment though.
