Clarification on Personal vs Team Account, Projects, and Subscription Expiry

Hello V0 Team,
I recently noticed that v0 has a switch between Personal and Team accounts, and I believe this explains the credit difference I was seeing.
Here is what I observed:
My Personal account shows 28 credits (free plan), and this is where I’ve been building my projects.
When I switch to the Team account (where I recently subscribed), it shows 32 credits.
However, when I switch to the Team account, I do not see any of my existing projects. The dashboard looks completely different and empty.
When I switch back to Personal, I can see all my projects again.
This is why I’m a bit confused and would like clarification.
I have a few important questions:
If I continue building under my Personal account, but the subscription is on the Team account, how does that affect my access to features and credits?
If I build projects under the Team account, what happens to those projects if the subscription expires?
Will projects created under the Team account remain accessible from my Personal (free) account?
If the Team subscription ends, will I lose access to those projects, or can they be transferred to my Personal account?
Are credits completely separate between Personal and Team accounts?
What setup would you recommend to avoid confusion and ensure I don’t lose access to my projects in the future?
I just want to make sure I’m building in the correct workspace and that my projects remain safe long-term.

Hey Bryanem!

Personal and Team accounts are completely separate workspaces:

  • Your Personal account (28 free credits) contains your existing projects
  • Your Team account (32 subscription credits) is a separate workspace with its own projects
  • Credits don’t combine between accounts - they’re separate pools

What this means:

  1. You won’t get Team features or credits in your Personal account. To use your Team subscription benefits, you need to work in the Team workspace.

  2. Projects in your Team account remain there but you’ll lose access to paid features (like removing v0 branding, higher credit limits). The projects don’t disappear.

  3. Accessing Team projects from Personal: No, they remain separate. But you can transfer projects between accounts.

  4. Your projects are safe! You can transfer them between Personal and Team accounts anytime via:

    • Chat settings (gear icon) > Transfer Chat
    • Or Settings > Workspace > General > Start Transfer

I recommend that you transfer your important projects to the Team account to use your subscription benefits. You can always transfer them back to Personal later if needed. Here’s a direct link to the transfer page.

Thank you for the explanation about Personal and Team workspaces being separate.

I have a few follow-up questions for clarification:

If my Team monthly subscription ends, will I still be able to access the Team workspace in order to transfer my projects back to my Personal account?

After transferring a project from Team to Personal:

Will the project remain deployed?

Will it stay connected to the same database and environment?

Or will I need to redeploy and reconnect everything manually?

I just want to make sure there’s no disruption to my live project or database connection if I decide to transfer it later.

Thank you for your help.
