CNAME record not working - www subdomain won't verify on Vercel

PICTURES ARE ATTACHED AT BOTTOM

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble getting my www subdomain to work with Vercel and I’m not sure what I’m missing.

Setup:

  • Domain: stenogstraa.dk

  • Root domain (stenogstraa.dk) works fine with A record pointing to 216.198.79.1

  • Trying to add www.stenogstraa.dk but it shows “Invalid Configuration” in Vercel

What I’ve configured:

The problem: Vercel dashboard still shows “Invalid Configuration” for the www subdomain. The DNS records appear to match what Vercel is asking for, but the domain won’t verify.

What I’ve tried:

  • Double-checked the CNAME value matches exactly what Vercel shows

  • Waited several hours for DNS propagation

  • Refreshed the Vercel dashboard multiple times

Questions:

  1. Is there something I’m missing in the DNS configuration?

  2. Should I be using cname.vercel-dns.com instead of the project-specific CNAME that Vercel shows?

  3. Has anyone else experienced this issue where the records appear correct but won’t verify?

I’ve attached screenshots of my Vercel DNS settings and my domain provider’s DNS configuration for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In your domain registrar, the Nameserver configuration determines where your domain is managed. Right now, the NS records for stenogstraa.dk are pointed at your registrar, so that’s the only place they’ll look for your other records.

Unfortunately the nameservers don’t seem to be set at your registrar even, and when I search online it seems other people have had issues with this registrar as well

I can’t access your site at all right now, even at the root domain, so I suspect it might only work within Denmark with the default configuration

Check to see if you can complete registration on your registrar, but if that doesn’t work you can change the tabs to “Vercel DNS” and that will tell you the nameservers to set (following the above guide) and then you can manage all of it on the Vercel dashboard
