Problem: Production deployments for my project stopped updating on Aug 9. Every push to main since then builds nothing new — the Deployments tab just stays frozen on the Aug 9 commit.
What I've ruled out:
- Not a build/code issue — nothing ever starts building
- Not the GitHub webhook — disconnected and reconnected the Git integration, still nothing
- Not GitHub App permissions — confirmed full repo access, all scopes present
- Not domain pinning — confirmed production domain is correctly assigned to "Production," not a stale deployment
- Not billing/usage limits — no warnings on the account
- Not a UI caching issue — confirmed via hard refresh and multiple checks over time
- Not "Ignored Build Step" — set to Automatic (default)
Smoking gun: I created a Deploy Hook and triggered it directly via curl, bypassing GitHub entirely:
curl -X POST "https://api.vercel.com/v1/integrations/deploy/<project-id>/<hook-id>"Response:
{"job":{"id":"NznAU5RBPJitZ4dOwecs","state":"PENDING","createdAt":1786597191986}}The job was accepted server-side, but it never transitioned to an active build and never appeared in the Deployments tab under any filter/status combination. Support confirmed this points to an internal issue in the deployment queue/background job worker for my project, not anything in my repo or account config.
Question: Is anyone else experiencing deploy hook jobs silently stalling in PENDING without ever reaching build execution? Also open to the idea that the GitHub App's installation token for this specific project repo connection may be stale on Vercel's end — would appreciate a staff engineer taking a look at job ID NznAU5RBPJitZ4dOwecs if possible.
Happy to share more details/logs as needed. Support case is already open, just hoping to get eyes on it sooner given this is blocking a live production app.
