Hello Vercel Team,

I have a GitHub repository connected to a Vercel project.

I want to create a new GitHub branch to run GitHub Actions tests only, without triggering any Vercel Preview or Production deployment.

I plan to include the following configuration in the very first commit pushed to the new branch:

{ "git": { "deploymentEnabled": { "ci-pilot-verify-20261031": false } } }

My questions are:

Will Vercel read this configuration before creating a deployment on the very first push of this branch?

Is this guaranteed to prevent Vercel from creating a Preview deployment?

If not, is there a safer way to exclude this branch from automatic deployments before pushing it for the first time?

I have not pushed the branch yet because I want to avoid unintended deployments.
