does vercel actually have gemini-3-pro access, or is it counterfeit?

I created a vercel account to confirm that the advertised gemini-3-pro access is real before moving my startup to vercel’s gateway. It seemed likely to be a scam, since gemini 3 has been deprecated for a while now, however I gave it a shot. In my benchmarks, your gemini-3-pro offering does not appear to be authentic - it seems like gemini-3.1-pro.

So my questions are:

  1. does vertex have a special relationship w google that provides post-deprecation access?
  2. if not, then how exactly does vercel provide access to gemini-3-pro?
  3. if vercel does not provide access to gemini-3-pro, then why are you claiming that it does and charging me for it?

Hopefully this is a mistake on my end and that my benchmarks are wrong - I would love to have access to the most exquisite LLM ever created again. Please just confirm that the gemini-3-pro tokens you charged me for today are in fact from gemini-3-pro and that you did not secretly route it to gemini-3.1-preview. I’m curious how you have access to gemini-3-pro.

We had many customers relying on this model, so we decided to reroute to 3.1 pro to avoid app downtime. The price is the same, even if it’s not the exact model.

In the future, we’re going to:

  1. Improve the UI for soon-to-be-deprecated models
  2. Email customers directly about these changes
