Domain changes

I made changes to the domain in Vercel but it doesn’t automatically describe my GitHub repo. Actually the initial automatic registration was added, but this part of the change can’t.

Hi @aflacake, welcome to the Vercel Community!

I’m not sure if I understand your statement correctly. I recommend you to read through our How to Get Good Answers guide and add more details to your post.

I changed the domain name in settings > domains to a new name. However this did not make any changes in my GitHub repo description which is in the link provided.

Hi @aflacake, are you talking about v0 settings or Vercel Project settings?

Regardless, changing the domain in either of these places will not make changes to your GitHub repository.

Also, where did you provide the link to the GitHub repo?

I saw it on github: gear tool there is where Vercel automatically sets up its links

Any links or screenshots would be helpful

The strange thing is when I changed the domain but it still works as automated by Vercel even though the domain has been changed.

When I changed the domain name, it was no longer automatically replaced by Vercel in the GitHub description.

The link on your GitHub repo would have been added when you initially set up the project connection. So the domain would be whatever the production domain was at that time.

As you discovered, you can manually update the link with your new domain if you prefer to use that now. I hope that makes sense!
