Domain registered on namecheap and correctly configured
The domain is blocked on some networks, especially my institution where they stated:
We wish to inform you that Talos has completed its review of the domain mathemise.com. Regrettably, we have not identified sufficient evidence to warrant a modification of its current reputation. Our foremost concern remains the safety and security of our customers, and any alteration to the domain’s reputation without substantial evidence could pose risks to their well-being.
During our analysis, we noted a significant increase in traffic associated with the domain. Such a trend is often indicative of a possible compromise, suggesting the domain could be engaged in the distribution of phishing emails or spam. Moreover, our assessment indicated that the domain has been connected to Command and Control (C2) behaviour.
To address this situation effectively, we recommend the following course of action:
Conduct a comprehensive security audit of your AWS-hosted website to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities.
Review and update your security policies to ensure they conform to best practices aimed at preventing unauthorized access and misuse.
Continuously monitor your traffic for any anomalous patterns that may suggest malicious activities.
Collaborate with AWS support to secure your hosting environment and obtain their assistance in mitigating any potential security issues.
I got in touch with namecheap who told me to contact Vercel, and the AI chatbot is no help here.
The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.
You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.
Thanks for your reply. I’m based in England, North west Europe region. I don’t know if it’s happening anywhere else as I haven’t tried to connect from there.
Also, I forgot to mention name cheap stated some certificate wasn’t activated during my support chat session yesterday, if this helps.
Hi @tgoulder4, thanks for sharing this. I see then this is not a Vercel Edge Network issue but more of what your university is allowing on the campus intranet. Have you spoken to someone from the admin team at your campus?
Sorry, we can’t help with getting your app running on a private network if the admin blocks the domain name. There’s nothing much I can suggest other than what then email already said.
