Domain Status Still "Purchase in Process" After 10 Days

Hey all,

I purchased a domain through Vercel 10 days ago on the 7th of July, but the status is still stuck on “Purchase in process”, and I’m unable to assign it to a project. The purchase definitely went through, the money left my bank account and I’m patiently waiting.

This seems abnormal and it’s blocking my deployment. Is there something I missed or does Vercel have to do something here?

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.

You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.

I checked the troubleshooting guide but for my issue it just says to contact support so here I am. :sweat_smile:

That’s certainly unusual! Let me see what I can figure out. Most likely going to need some help from one of the domain experts, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I learn more

Thanks for waiting. Digging into the logs, I found that the domain was flagged as a trademarked domain, so the purchase got blocked partway through.

We’ve issued a refund. While Vercel doesn’t currently support buying trademarked domains, you may be able to get that domain with a different registrar and then connect it to your project as a third party domain.

Hi @amyegan , sorry for bringing this up again. I tried deleting the domain from my list so I can re-add it but I’m getting an error: Cannot delete corsa.app. Processing purchase.
Will the domain be removed from my account automatically so that I can re-add it myself or is there a way for someone in your team to remove the domain?

EDIT: the domain works now, the status just still says “Purchase in process” :sweat_smile: I hit an edge case in Vercel’s domain system, I guess!
