Domain stuck on "Invalid Configuration" after briefly connecting to another platform

My domain theholisticecosystem.com is registered through Vercel and was previously working.

It was briefly connected to Emergent, then immediately removed. Since then:

  • theholisticecosystem.vercel.app works correctly.
  • theholisticecosystem.com and www.theholisticecosystem.com remain “Invalid Configuration.”
  • I’ve restored the DNS records Vercel specifies.
  • I’ve removed and re-added both domains.
  • Vercel AI reports that public traffic is resolving through Cloudflare, even though I have not configured Cloudflare myself.

Because I’m on the Hobby plan, the support form redirects me to the community instead of allowing me to submit a case.

Could someone from the Vercel team investigate whether this domain is stuck in an internal verification state or associated with an unexpected Cloudflare configuration?

Reverse proxies, like Cloudflare, intercept traffic and can prevent Vercel from directly verifying domain ownership and managing SSL certificates, which causes the “Invalid Configuration” error you see. They also limit Vercel’s traffic visibility for security measures and introduce latency, so they’re not recommended.
