I added a new domain (coopera.social.br) but it didn’t work. It says “Verification Needed” because this domain migh be linked to another Vercel account, the same error messager asks me to add TXT and CNAME records on my registrar’s DNS table, I have done it but it didn’t work.
The CNAME record needs to be on coopera.social.br rather than coopera.coopera.social.br (CNAME record check) and the TXT record needs to be on _vercel.social.br rather than on _vercel.coopera.social.br (TXT record check)
It should verify quickly after you make that change!
Hi Amy, thanks for checking this, but my domain actually is coopera.social.br, coopera isn’t a subdomain here. I can’t create a CNAME without a name (thats why I have coopera.coopera), the same apply for the TXT record I cant remove the “coopera” from my domain to create “_vercel.social.br” because no one owns social.br it is a reserved domain by the registrar.
I tryied adding a new domain with a subdomain on my Vercel’s project (“weirdbug.coopera.social.br”), and this way I managed to make the CNAME work, but I’m still unable to do the TXT verification since it expects me to add the TXT record on the wrong URL (“_vercel.social.br”).
Problem isn’t solved but it is one more proof that this is probably a bug on Vercel side since it is expecting to add the TXT verification on a URL that can’t be owned by anyone. Every person who buy a “social.br” domain should face the same problem.
You’re right. I see it on the public suffix list, but it’s not being recognized on the dashboard. I found the problem and I’m opening a PR to fix it now
Thanks, Amy. Do you have an ETA on when this will be fixed?
