Feedback on the New V0 Update – Deeply Disappointed

Subject: Feedback on the New V0 Update – Deeply Disappointed

Hi Vercel team,

I’m writing this with a heavy heart and a great deal of frustration. The new version of V0 has significantly disrupted my development workflow, to the point of causing me serious stress and discouragement. Three days ago, and again today, I faced an overwhelming number of issues that nearly made me abandon my entire project, not the mention the fact I gave up on V0 since March.

When I discovered V0 last year, it was a game-changer. I was genuinely amazed by how it simplified my development process. It became my go-to assistant—not even ChatGPT could match it at the time. I relied on V0 not just for coding, but even for academic assignments. It was fast, accurate, and efficient.

However, since the major update around April, the new V0 feels completely broken. I’m not sure what changes were made to the model, but its behavior is erratic and, frankly, harmful to serious development. Here are just a few recurring problems:

  • It doesn’t follow clear instructions.
  • It generates code unpredictably and disregards user constraints.
  • When uploading files with specific guidance (e.g., “Do not change function names or existing logic”), it rewrites filenames, renames functions, and disrupts working functionality.

This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s destabilizing. Two days ago, I had to stop entirely and switch to Bolt AI, which, despite its own limitations, was far more reliable and respectful of my input.

I tried again today, hoping things had improved, but within an hour, I faced the same frustrations. At this point, I’ve decided to step away from V0 entirely, unless there is a serious reconsideration or rollback to the previous, stable version. Development tools should reduce friction—not add chaos.

If I had to rate V0 back in November 2024, it was a perfect 5/5. Today, unfortunately, it’s a 1/5. I’m being as honest as possible. Without version control and backups, I might have given up on my entire project because of V0’s destructive output.

Please consider reverting or at least providing access to the old version. V0 was a brilliant tool—I’d love to see it return to that state.

Thank you.

I’ve been using it very effectively over the last two weeks. Yes, there are some issues, I’ve started over better the 2nd time, improving the prompt is critical.
