Feedback on Vercel Toolbar – Big potential if adapted for clients

Hi Vercel team,

As a freelance web developer, I often share live links with my clients instead of Figma files. It’s faster and shows the real UI directly in production.

However, collecting client feedback remains difficult — especially with non-technical users. I was really interested in the Vercel Toolbar, but:

  • It requires the client to have a Vercel account, which adds friction.
  • The free plan doesn’t allow trying this feature on even one project.
  • Clients just want to click through and leave comments, like on Figma or Loom, without any login or setup.

Because of this, I’m currently looking into alternatives like Userback.io or MarkUp.io that let clients leave comments directly on the live site.

Suggestions:

  1. Allow guest comments (no Vercel account needed).
  2. Enable the Toolbar for at least one free project with client feedback.
  3. Add visual annotations (sticky notes, highlight areas, etc.) like in design tools.

I believe Vercel could compete directly with Figma in the review phase — using real code, not just prototypes — if the Toolbar becomes more client-friendly.

Thanks for all the amazing tools you build. I’d love to see this feature evolve!

Best

i am making an app and would love for users to be able to toggle this on and off via a settings page so the alpha users can give feedback directly
