“failed to synch to branch”
this is what I am getting when I try to make a pull request from GitHub.
First time it has happened.
Any reason that would be happening today?

i am having the same issue, started seeing it a few days ago. I disconnected/reconnected github, but the issue persists.
same here.
Hi there, I’m sorry that you’re facing this issue.
To help debug the issue, could you help me with these information:
I am having a similar issue. I made the following:
Now, when coming back to V0, I can no longer sync any of the changes. I tried unlinkng and linking again, creating a new branch etc… The only thing that does not fail to synchronize is changing the active branch to a brand a new branch from V0, but then the new branch removes all the changes uploaded to main (and if I try to make a new commit on top to reapply them, the sync issue appears again).
It is a big blocker, there is no way I can use this right now…
Have you heard anything on this? I am experiencing the same issue. I have a message ‘Failed to sync to branch’ with no other explanation
Thanks for reporting folks! I’m sharing with the team right now
Will loop back!
I was trying to create a new chat from inside the current chat. Last time it was working but just creating a dummy branch from V0 chat and then switch to the real branch later. However, it doesn’t work now. My new chat force me to use the dummy branch and unable to switch to the real branch. My old chat also stuck now, unable to switch to any newly created branch. Even the error message appears ““Failed to switch branch”.
I’ve deleted the old project and create a new project now. I have to ask the new chat in the new project to build a dummy landing page so the preview will appear and I can then see the GitHub branch selection. Again it’s asking me to create a new branch and I’m unable to select the already created branch in GitHub. Once a new branch has been created, I’m unable to switch branch again.
Any recent changes in V0 that might have caused this? If yes, what is the correct steps to create a new project and link it to the existing GitHub branch?
Hi team,
Just adding another data point — this issue is still not fixed on our side.
We’re consistently hitting “Failed to sync to branch” / “Failed to switch branch” when working with v0 + GitHub. In our case:
v0 keeps creating new branches automatically
Existing GitHub branches cannot be selected or switched to
Any attempt to sync changes or open a PR fails
Re-linking GitHub, creating new projects, or using “dummy branches” no longer works
This effectively blocks collaboration and PR-based workflows, making v0 unusable for active projects right now.
It does seem correlated with recent v0 updates, as this workflow was working fine earlier.
Would really appreciate:
Confirmation that this is a known regression
Recommended temporary workaround (if any)
ETA or update on the fix
Happy to share project details or chat URLs privately if needed. Thanks!
Folks - where are you on this? Some of us are building real software for real people with your stuff…which is feeling like a serious error in judgement right about now.
