Folks - I am looking to fork my project via the UI. This is what I do when the chat goes off the rails and does things it should not - repeatedly.
However, to my surprise, forking is no longer in the UI. Does that mean we can no longer start another chat?
Where did forking go, and can we get it back?
Would seem I have solved this one.
Forking is gone, but now there is duplicate in the setting drop down.
Team v0: heads up or some way to track this stuff would be very helpful…

Yeah forking is just duplicating now.
Fork was a way better term. Why is Vercel changing stuff like this more often then fixing things that really need attention?
Thankful I found this thread. Even v0 doesn’t know about the latest changes.
But why was this change made? Devs have previously recommended forking, so are there also changes to behaviour?

It’s just a name change. “Fork” makes sense for devs, but it’s jargon that doesn’t make sense to people getting into vibe coding from a different background. So now you “duplicate” your chats instead of “fork”, but that’s just two different names for the same action
The fork button was moved under the “settings” menu a little while back.
And it’s recently been renamed from “fork” to “duplicate” so the action is more immediately understandable for people new to coding
