From Vercel top fan to deeply disappointed — Invalid DNS

Hello,

Your DNS changes have taken our company site down, and Support has not replied after five messages.

Facts / current state (screenshots attached):

  • Registrar: Namecheap — nameservers were delegated to ns1.vercel-dns.com and ns2.vercel-dns.com.

  • Vercel dashboard shows Invalid Configuration for the www entry.

  • I have not added DNS records at the registrar after delegating NS (I understand registrar DNS is ignored once NS are delegated).

Please do the following (copy/paste-ready values preferred):

  1. Verify the DNS zone on Vercel and confirm these records exist and point correctly:

    • A @ → 76.76.21.21

    • CNAME www → cname.vercel-dns.com
If any are missing, create them or provide the exact DNS values I must add.

  2. Check TLS / certificate provisioning for www — if issuance failed, force re-issue or list the exact steps to fix it.

  3. Confirm the domain is being served by Vercel (server-side checks): run and paste results for dig NS, dig A, dig CNAME for the domain. If Vercel is not answering the zone, explain why and fix it.

  4. If ownership/verification is required from my side, list the exact TXT or other values to add (copy/paste-ready).

This is urgent. Please escalate to an engineer and reply with exactly what you changed or the exact DNS entries I must add.

Equally interested in this - I have experienced the same issue (broken as of this weekend).

As a workaround for the time-being I’m now pointing DNS records direct rather than previous setup where we pointed a CF dist to the CNAME (cname.vercel-dns.com) and relied on Host header to point to correct place.

There is zero support unfortunately, I would strongly suggest to anyone using it to move to other services.
