Function Invocations Charged 228x Documented Rate with no response from support for 4 days

We were forcefully migrated to the new Pro plan and now being charged at rates that are hundreds of times higher than Vercel’s documented pricing. Our upcoming invoice shows: $0.60 for 4,387 function invocations (documented rate is $0.60 per 1,000,000 invocations - meaning we’re being charged $0.60 for what should cost less than a cent), $0.65 for 965 edge middleware invocations, and $0.18 for 0.122 GB-Hrs function duration.

These charges are eating into our $20 monthly credit. Before the forced migration to the new plan, we had never experienced charges like this with similar usage levels. We’re still in the prototyping phase with less than 50k total edge requests per month, nowhere near any limits. Our billing appears to be fundamentally broken, charging us approximately 228x the rate shown in documentation.

I reached out to support 4 days ago but still have had no response.

If we were live when this happened then we would hit the overage limit I set and our services would be suspended or we would have to pay many thousands of dollars to stay live. Does anyone at Vercel actually monitor the Support Center? Are these waiting times normal?

These prices are bucket based, so you’re charged up front for the whole bucket. Each of those charges ($0.60 for 1M function invocations, $0.65 per 1M Edge middleware invocations) will remain flat until you hit 1M in each category, at which point you are charged another $0.60 for the next 1M

If you do not hit 1M invocations in the month, that number will stay at $0.60 until the month renews. You can think of it like a reserved amount so there aren’t any months where you use the other metrics and then only have 100 function invocations available

@unspecified-7428, I wanted to check in regarding your billing issue with the Pro plan. Have you found any resolution, or do you still need assistance with the charges you’re seeing? Let me know if that helps!
