I accidentally deleted the email account associated with my Vercel account and now I’m stuck in a billing loop that I can’t escape. Looking for advice on how others have handled this situation.
Current vs Expected Behavior
Current:
- Vercel is still charging my payment method for services tied to [REDACTED]
- I cannot log into the dashboard because the email account no longer exists
- Password reset doesn’t work since the email is deleted
- Billing continues automatically with no way to cancel
Expected:
- Should be able to contact support to cancel billing when email is inaccessible
- Account should have some failsafe when the primary email becomes invalid
- Should be able to prove ownership through payment method or domain ownership
Steps That Led to This Issue
- Had active Vercel account with email: [REDACTED]
- Had active subscription/billing for Vercel Pro services
- Deleted the email account [REDACTED] from my email provider
- Realized I can no longer access Vercel dashboard
- Billing continues but cannot manage account or cancel subscription
What I’ve Tried
- Password reset (fails because email doesn’t exist)
- Contacting email provider to restore the account (not possible)
- Looking for alternative login methods (none found)
- Searching for Vercel account recovery options
Account Information
- Deleted Email: [REDACTED]
- Domain: [REDACTED] (still own this domain)
- Framework: Next.js projects were hosted
- Billing: Active Pro subscription that I cannot cancel
- Payment Method: Still being charged monthly
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m currently paying for services I can’t access or manage.
