Hugo _index.md changes not appearing on Vercel live site

Problem

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with a Hugo static site where changes – specifically to the _index.md file – are not reflecting on the live production website, even though:

  • The changes are correctly committed and pushed to the Git repository.
  • Deployments complete successfully (green Ready status).
  • In the Vercel deployment details, the Source tab clearly shows the updated _index.md content.
  • I have performed multiple clean redeploys with Use existing Build Cache unchecked.
  • Hard refreshes (Ctrl + Shift + R), incognito mode, and different browsers/devices all show the old version.
  • The specific deployment preview URLs also do not reflect the changes (or at least the production alias doesn’t).

The site is a standard Hugo project managed by Sitepins CMS. The only file I’m editing right now is the homepage _index.md, which should be a very straightforward content change.

What I’ve Tried

  1. Force redeploy without build cache
  2. Testing the raw deployment URL vs. custom domain

Despite all of the above, the live site continues to serve the old version of the _index.md content.

Can you try clearing Vercel’s Edge Cache?

Go to your project dashboard → Settings → Functions → Purge Everything. This will clear all cached content. :slight_smile:
