Sorry to hear that your requests are costing you allot, which model are you using in the chat? A few weeks ago there was a bug or something that upped the pricings allot but now since 3 weeks or so everything is working fine at my end again with pricings.

I have projects with 30+ files with over 2000 lines of code and when using the mini or pro model it only charges me between 0.03-0.40 for the mini and 0.03 to 1.25 for the pro. Please let us know and if its possible share your chat link so the v0 team can check your chat and usages.

Thanks MarnixB. I do usually Opus…guess I qualify as a demanding user…however my project is safe to say a couple hundred files. plus I add context from elsewhere. That said, depending on the task, like editing a single file, there is no way the minute I press go it should cost dollars…that seems like the input tokens are massively / unnecessarily inflated. Or perhaps I am missing something?

And to directly answer your question about sharing my chat, I’m sad to say, I have had bad experiences with that. Things were changed in my project that I could not restore (like my connection to my vercel project)…so once bitten, twice shy.

Regardless, if there is a bug leading to over charging, I’d love to learn more. That said, my hunch this has more to do with stuffing the context window, and it not being optimized.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but Opus is the most expensive. If you hover over the models, you can see exactly how much you're spending.

Do you use other vibe coding / AI tools? Have you noticed same or different pricing? I'd love to understand your experience so I can pass this onto our product team. As far as I know, we align with the rest of the industry.

Yes, I am aware opus costs more, but it also delivers.

I have models with all the big labs. I have tried other tools, but I like v0’s frontend plus vercel combo for my project.

In that case, two things:

1. I’ve noticed the inefficency as described.
2. I am consistently charged more via credits, than shows up in my usage/billing report inside v0. It’s like a 2-3x difference. I can’t account for it, but the reported usage and cost is half to a third of what I actually pay. I trust others have shared this also, if not, others should check their accounts. Big discrepency.
