Invalid chat or block - failed to create repository on GitHub

Hello, I’m trying to create a new repo from V0.
GitHub is connected. I’m getting these 2 error messages:

Invalid chat or block - failed to create repository on GitHub

Any suggestions?

Can you share the chat link where you’re having the issue?

Some things to check

  • if you make a new chat right now, does that one sync to github just fine?
  • is this an old project?
  • if you go to settings → duplicate and duplicate it into a new project, does the repo work there?

I created a brand new project.
asked to create a blank single page for me.
I then go to the github link:

so you duplicated the chat but asked it to create a blank page? Or are you saying you started a brand new chat in a project and asked for a blank screen?
Or, are you trying to create a new blank chat / project and import a GH repo?

Started a brand new chat and project under projects.
I wanted to do the setup first before doing anything inside the project.
I’m actually stuck now. I don’t want to start without a repo.

ah ok I see what you mean.

So there was a way I was able to do this and maybe it will help you.
In your GitHub Repo, download as a zipped file. Then on v0 when you start a new project chat, click “Upload a new project” and upload the zipped file.

This worked for me perfectly and the design I had which was then pushed to GH was imported to a new proejct chat 1:1 no issues.

Give that a go and let us know if it worked.

is this available on the free plan?
will it link back to the github project ?!?

Hmmm i think it is on free plan. If you start a new project or just from the “main” home screen you should see that option as I show in the screenshot.
Try going to the main v0 screen (not sure what else to call it) and that button should be there.

Once you upload the zip file and the proejct is created, no it wont link back tot he gihub project right away.
You would either want to relink it (but not sure if that will cause some sort of issues when merging and syncing) or, just start a new github repo to be on the safe side. Then it will for sure be linked and fresh with what you have just started.

But I am curious, when you click on the v0 logo in the top left and it takes you to “main screen” does it not show that button i pointed out in my screenshot? Can you send a screenshot of what you see possibly?
