Hello Vercel team,
I would like to clarify Hobby plan eligibility before putting a small internal application into real business use.
The intended use is:
- Approximately 2–3 internal users only.
- Managing genuine customer reservations, quotations, operating costs/settlements and invoices for a small business.
- No public customer portal, online checkout, advertising or affiliate revenue.
- The software itself is not sold or offered as a paid SaaS.
- It would nevertheless support normal commercial business operations.
The current web prototype contains fictional test data only. Production customer and bank-account data have not been connected to it.
I understand that Hobby is restricted to non-commercial personal use, and I do not want to incorrectly classify a business tool as non-commercial simply because the team is small or the app does not collect payments online.
Could a Vercel staff member please clarify:
- Is this internal business-use case permitted on Hobby?
- If not, is there any explicitly authorized free allowance/exception, or is Pro required regardless of the small user count?
- May the fictional-data prototype remain on Hobby while this is clarified?
This is a policy clarification request only, not a request to upgrade a plan or enable any paid service. Company, account, project, deployment and personal details have intentionally been omitted from the body of this public post.
Thank you.
