Hi Vercel team,
I'm trying to deploy a FastAPI backend using TensorFlow 2.21.0 on my free Hobby account.
My deployment fails with this error:
Error: Total bundle size (2004.81 MB) exceeds the maximum function size (500 MB).Project configuration:
- Framework: FastAPI
- Python: 3.12
- Vercel CLI: 62.7.0
- Fluid Compute: Enabled
- Plan: Hobby
- Project root:
deploy/mobilenet - Dependencies include TensorFlow, Keras, FastAPI and Pillow.
I read about the Large Functions beta supporting Python bundles up to 5 GB and automatic enrollment for new projects.
However, my newly created project still enforces the 500 MB limit.
I also tried adding VERCEL_SUPPORT_LARGE_FUNCTIONS=1, but Vercel displayed the value as system-managed and would not let me edit it.
My questions:
- Is the 5 GB Large Functions beta available on the Hobby plan?
- If yes, why is my project still limited to 500 MB?
- Is there a setting or supported configuration required to enable it?
- Can this be resolved without upgrading to Pro?
I'm working on a personal machine-learning portfolio project and would like to remain on the free plan.
Thanks for your help!
