I understand that some price adjustments are necessary to cover Vercel’s increasing inference and infrastructure costs, and I’m not asking for freebies. What I’d really like to know is:
What improvements are coming?
What concrete feature or performance upgrades do you have planned especially for those of us who’ve been with v0 since day one?
Which of the annoying bugs (infinite loops, stalled generations, empty or duplicated chats) are you prioritizing fixing, and when can we expect those fixes?
Where’s the v0-small option?
You’ve rolled out medium and large models but haven’t given us a chance to experiment with a truly low cost “small” tier. That feels unfair: we need an affordable way to test new prompts without burning credits on tiny requests.
Accessibility vs. aggressiveness
Vercel has always been known for accessible, developer-friendly pricing across all its products. This new credit system and per token burn rate feel surprisingly aggressive more like a cash grab than a partnership.
Global pricing concerns
Finally, please consider regional differences: US$20 is a serious amount in Brazil (and similar markets). What adjustments or localized pricing plans do you have in mind for countries where $20 buys far less?
Honestly, I’m even considering pausing my subscription until I see a roadmap focused on fixing these core issues rather than superficial updates like UI tweaks or adding more languages (e.g. Spanish). When can we expect a concrete commitment to resolve the infinite loops, stalled generations, and ensure we’re no longer billed for AI errors?
I’m passionate about v0’s potential if these questions are answered transparently, and if you offer a fairer, lower cost entry point alongside bug fixes, I’m confident we can restore trust and keep growing together. Thanks!
We are constantly reviewing feedback to make adjustments to v0. Reports of bugs and performance issues have been addressed in the past and will continue to be handled going forward.
The time required to make adjustments varies based on the complexity of a given issue. I don’t have a blanket time estimate for every issue to be fully resolved. We all appreciate everyone’s patience while the team continues to work on v0 updates.
Where’s the v0-small option?
The v0-small model is being worked on now. I don’t have an exact release date yet, but it will be available soon. And it’ll have noticeably cheaper costs.
Accessibility vs. aggressiveness
We sincerely intend for usage-based pricing to be more transparent and more fair for our customers. The message-based model penalizes small tasks by forcing you to spend a whole message rather than the tiny fraction of a credit used under the new pricing.
What all of that means is many people stand to get more messages under the new model than they had previously. The other side of that, admittedly, is that some people who run a lot of heavy tasks may run out of included usage sooner than they did under the old pricing system.
Global pricing concerns
I’m not aware of any plans for global pricing changes. But that’s a nice idea and I’ll make sure the team sees it. Any pricing change involves a lot of moving pieces, so it would be a while before it could be rolled out if the team decides to adopt this.
In case you didn’t already see it, the v0 team shared more info about it here:
I hope that answers your questions. But please let me know if there’s any other info you need
It’s really important for us to get feedback about what’s working and what isn’t. Please keep us informed whenever you run into trouble with v0
