I work at Hookdeck and built an MCP Events bridge, an open-source MCP server that turns any webhook into an MCP event, on top of Hookdeck Event Gateway.
The AI SDK's experimental MCP Events support in @ai-sdk/mcp works with it, so an agent can subscribe to events from Resend, GitHub, Stripe and other services. For example, new GitHub issues:
import { experimental_createMCPClient as createMCPClient, experimental_createMCPEventWebhook as createMCPEventWebhook,} from '@ai-sdk/mcp';
const store = myDurableStore; // get, getById, set, update, delete
const webhook = createMCPEventWebhook({ store, async onEvent({ event }) { // event.name, event.data: hand the new issue to your agent },});// In your callback's POST route: return webhook(request);
const client = await createMCPClient({ transport: { type: 'http', url: BRIDGE_MCP_URL, headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${BRIDGE_MCP_SECRET}` }, }, experimental_events: { store },});
await client.experimental_events.subscribe({ name: 'github.issues', arguments: { repository: 'your-org/your-repo', actions: ['opened'] }, delivery: { mode: 'webhook', url: CALLBACK_URL },});createMCPEventWebhook verifies each signed delivery before onEvent runs. On a laptop, the callback URL can be a Hookdeck Event Gateway MCP Events source, with hookdeck listen 3000 forwarding deliveries to the agent.

Turn any webhook into an MCP event with the MCP Events bridge
Hookdeck
Setup and the full example: https://github.com/hookdeck/mcp-events-bridge/blob/main/skills/mcp-events-bridge/references/library-clients.md#vercel-ai-sdk
Tested with @ai-sdk/mcp 2.0.84. It needs a free Hookdeck account.
