Message history vanished

It’s my third day trying v0.dev

Yesterday, v0 stopped in the middle of code generation, and my message limit got over.

Today, it gave me an option to Continue Generation which I selected. It completed the current file it was working on but didn’t complete the whole of the previous task, which required modifying multiple files. Thereafter I submitted another message with the specifics of things that need to be done. It started generating/editing/fixing the same files 2-3 times, and then got stuck in the middle.

I opened another window, and it showed me that few more files have been generated, and also prompted me to Continue Generation. I selected that again, and nothing happened, except message limit exhaustion.

I went back to original chat to see what has been changed, and now the entire chat history beyond the first message for today is missing. Although the messages appear to have been consumed, but the code base is at the version it was yesterday, with the file completed that was done using the first Continue Generation today.

Hi, @agragauravvercel-gma! Welcome to the Vercel Community :waving_hand:

Thank you for giving v0 a go! Sorry to hear about your experience here.

Could you share a link to your chat so we can take a closer look? In the meanwhile, I can share this as feedback to the v0 team.

Hello @pawlean

Thanks for replying to this message.

Unfortunately, I’ve done quite some work on that thread since then, and so don’t have a snapshot to share. However, it feels like the platform glitches increase as the code base and message history size increases. Perhaps there is something happening at the resource allocation end, as CPU utilization is nearly 0% and memory utilization is nearly 100% all the time, without the app preview.

Thanks!

I faced this exact issue. Lengthy tasks keep stopping midway to as: Continue Generating. When you accept, it ruins the previous work and attempts to redo it, only to get stuck in this loop, this has happened in several projects
