New to Vercel, trying to attach namecheap domain

Can you explain more about what you’re trying to do?

The general process for adding a domain from Namecheap to a Vercel project is

  1. Add your domain in Vercel Dashboard:
    • Go to your project settings and add your custom domain
  2. Update DNS records at Namecheap: You’ll need to either:
    • Point your domain’s nameservers to Vercel’s nameservers, OR
    • Add specific DNS records (A/CNAME) that Vercel provides

I think I got it but I will have to see in 48 hours. The first time, I added Vercel’s IP address and CNAME to the “advanced DNS” section of namecheap but that didn’t work obviously.

It might be more intuitive for new people on Vercel if there were screenshots of the 4-5 major domain registers UI with arrows to the settings. In a domain FAQ format maybe. I wasn’t sure what I needed to give namecheap as far as nameservers until I read through the community forum.

Just for reference (for the next person) see photo for namecheap’s nameservers format. Hopefully It will work this time!
