No nameserver option when "Another Vercel account is using this domain"

I'm trying to add a custom domain to my project.

When I add the domain I get a message advising me that " Another Vercel account is using this domain. " and I need to verify ownership with a TXT record.

I'm able to verify successfully but then it only gives me the A record method of connecting the domain but I want to use Nameservers (I'm using the platform starter kit and it advises to use this method to setup wildcard subdomains).

The tab below is available if i try a different domain and I don't get the " Another Vercel account is using this domain. " warning. but is missing for the one I wish to add ... any suggestions? How can I enable Vercel DNS when this tab/option is missing?

How can I enable Vercel DNS when this tab/option is missing?

That is strange! I can ask internally, but can you can try to:

Remove the domain from your project and add it again.
Check again if there's an option to switch to Vercel DNS in the domain settings of your project.
Ensure that you've fully completed the domain verification process.

Thanks , I've tried removing/adding again a few times but no success. I managed to use nameservers on the same project with a different domain but this one didn't give me the 'another vercel account is using this domain' warning.

I removed the domain from the project and tried paying the $50 to transfer it in using an auth code, hoping that could be a solution but I still get an error:

"The domain front.photography already exists"

Is there a way to request this domain is removed from the project someone else registered it with ?

From the relevant documentation:

Most domain registrars, including Vercel, provide their own nameservers. For Vercel these are:

ns2.vercel-dns.com
