I am having trouble configuring the custom domain I bought at ionos with my vercel app. I followed all the steps, waited more than 24hours but its still not working. Maybe anyone can share experiences or guide me towards the right direction? Cheers
The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.
You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.
anyone? is there some kind of support in here or do I have to file in the issue elsewhere?
Hi @csidi90, welcome to the Vercel Community!
I just checked the DNS Checker - DNS Check Propagation Tool for klauselwerk.de and it seems like the propagation hasn’t finished yet.
You should reach out to your domain provider (ionos) to check why the DNS changes are taking longer.
yes I saw that but ttl was an hour and its been almost 3 days now. thx
Yeah it definitely looks weird because in most cases it gets resolved in an hour or so. At max 72 hours. Let me know if Ionos is able to help.
They already said its not their fault it must be on on vercel site which I doubt but I am not sure either. I have made all the steps vercel dashboard showed as seen in the screenshots. Not sure whats going on.
Oh I see. Have you tried removing all the DNS records and waiting for an hour before adding the @ A record? Just one.
But I can assure you it’s not on Vercel because the DNS has not propagated.
by all you mean which ones? The ionos domain already had some entries pre made when I got it.
I only set the vercel recommended a record and cname www
If you didn’t configure rest of the records, you can safely delete them. Just take a backup screenshot so you can restore if you want. After that, just delete all, wait for an hour or so and start with the A + CNAME records from Vercel.
unfortunately still not working. I even added the acme txt records for the pre generated ssl certs but even they dont seem to find anything when I press the generate button. Do I need to add vercel nameservers to ionos or something? They dont seem to be able to help either.
I’m sorry to hear that. I’d recommend using Vercel Nameservers. To get started, you can follow the documentation from Working with nameservers.
