Hello Vercel Community,
I'm experiencing a persistent HTTP 403 Forbidden error when trying to access my existing Vercel team projects through the official ChatGPT Vercel MCP integration.
The Vercel dashboard works normally in my browser, and my project is accessible. However, the MCP integration cannot read project or deployment information.
What I've verified:
- The ChatGPT Vercel connector is installed and enabled.
- The correct Vercel account and default team are recognized.
- The
get_auth_userrequest succeeds and returns the expected user and team. - The OAuth reconnection flow completes successfully, with ChatGPT confirming that the application is connected.
- Requests to
GET /v9/projects/{projectId}andGET /v13/deployments/{deploymentId}still return HTTP 403. - Both requests explicitly include the correct
teamId. - The same error persists after reconnecting from a desktop browser.
API error:
Not authorized: Trying to access resource under scope "TEAM_SLUG". You must re-authenticate to this scope or use a token with access to this scope.
The Vercel support assistant suggested a possible OAuth scope mismatch and recommended reconnecting the integration while authorizing the correct team. However, that process has already been completed successfully without resolving the issue.
My questions:
- Is there a known issue with team-scoped OAuth permissions in the ChatGPT Vercel MCP integration?
- Can an OAuth connection report success while still lacking authorization for team projects?
- Is there a way to inspect or verify the granted team scope without exposing credentials?
- What is the recommended way to resolve this without creating new tokens, modifying the existing project or changing the subscription?
I can provide the affected request IDs and resource identifiers privately to the Vercel team if needed.
Thank you for your help!
