Project but preview window has vanished

Hi,

I may not fully understand how this works, but here’s my situation.

I started a project and have been building a site with multiple chats. It’s gone well and the site is launched. I had had a few issues I have been trying to fix related to SEO clean-up. My site is connected to GitHub, and it’s published on CloudFlare Pages rather than Vercel. I just been using Vercel as the testing area. I have been using Github branches to switch between LIVE and feature verions and merging in Github when needed back to Main.

I understand that once a chat reaches around 50 versions, I should start a new chat. So I went into the project and cleaned up my chats. When I started a new chat, it opened in the middle of the screen without a preview window, publish etc. I asked the AI where the preview was, and it said there are no files and that I need to connect to GitHub. However, when I click on settings on the right, it shows I’m connected fine—my variables and everything are all there. There’s just no preview window, and it thinks there are no files.

Update - ok, the problem has got worse now. So when i asked the AI why preview was it said there was no files. It then started creating new pages and a new site. Have the preview back, but now my site has gone. GitHub says its connected, but thankfully, it’s not connected to an active branch, so nothing has been pushed. The vars for the project are there as well. I am pretty sure this must be a bug, but a pretty bad one to trash an active site!.

Also wondering: how many people are switching between using v0 and Claude Code via GitHub, and can that cause issues? I haven’t done that yet, but I’d like to. v0 is amazing at UI, but I’d like to use Claude Code/Codex for bug fixing and adding more complex features that aren’t UI-related.

Thanks!
