Project-specific contributors require a $20,000 per year enterprise plan?

Used and thoroughly enjoyed Vercel for a few years now.

I run a small business, and occasionally I hire contractors to work on something specific. I just discovered though that in order to invite a contributor to a specific project (like how you can do in GitHub, inviting someone to a specific repo), you must sign up for enterprise, which is at a minimum $20,000 per year.

Support confirmed there is currently no add-on, no Pro-tier upgrade, and no alternative. My choices are:

  • Upgrade to Enterprise.
  • Add the contractor to the Pro team and give them visibility into every project in that organization.

As a small business, I should be able to grant a contractor access to one project without exposing unrelated projects. That seems like a reasonable expectation in 2026.

What are the options here? I’d like to stay on Vercel, but having project-scoped permissions and basic RBAC locked behind a $20,000 Enterprise plan is making me seriously consider other hosting options.
