I am considering using Vercel to host a website for a project, but I am unclear as to whether there could be a potential violation of Vercel’s commercial usage policy. My team and I are a closed group of students doing work for no money, and our client is a non-profit organization. Would Vercel be a valid option for us?
From the fair use guidelines:
Commercial usage is defined as any Deployment that is used for the purpose of financial gain of anyone involved in any part of the production of the project, including a paid employee or consultant writing the code.
So, no worries about commercial use if your project is for a non-profit organization and you’re not being paid!
Small follow-up: would we be able to include a donation page in this website where users could donate to the non-profit organization, or would that cross the line to be commercial usage?
