Hello everyone,
I am trying to recover management of a domain name that I originally purchased directly through Vercel.
A few months ago, I deleted my original Vercel account to safeguard my assets during a security concern. Since then, I have created a new Vercel account using the same email address to continue working on my project.
However, because the domain was registered under my previous (now deleted) account, I am facing the following issues:
Missing domain management: I no longer have access to the dashboard settings to configure DNS or renew the domain.
Third-party status: When trying to add the domain to my new project, it is being treated as a third-party domain instead of a Vercel-managed domain.
Could a Vercel team member or community moderator please help me recover and transfer ownership of followforward.dev to my new Vercel account?
Thank you!tions that get answered the fastest are the ones with relevant info included in the original post. Be sure to include all detail needed to let others see and understand the problem!
The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.
You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.
For a Vercel-registered domain, the normal path is to move the domain from the Domains dashboard of the account or team that currently owns it. The steps are covered here: Transferring Domains to Another Team or Project.
Since the original account was deleted, this will require account-specific review, so opening a support case is the right path. Please note that Hobby accounts are not covered by a support plan or SLA, so responses may take longer depending on queue volume. More detail on support expectations is available here: How long does it take to get a response from Vercel Support?.
Someone will review your submitted support case and reach out with more info soon.
