The spike was caused by an AI-related Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation that unexpectedly went into an infinite request loop/excessive calling. I did not realize it would consume the Serverless Function/Edge Network limits so rapidly. What I have done to fix this: I have already stopped the offending service from making any further requests. I am planning to optimize the code with stricter rate limiting and migrate the heavy workloads to a self-hosted environment to ensure this will never happen again.
