I’m not sure where to put this but I’m looking for support or feedback on this web browser project I’ve been working on the past few months. I’ve dubbed it: “It’s everything you love - from every browser you hate”- It has all the expected things in a new-age browser, AI, password encryption, profiles, parental controls, etc.
Some special things that I haven’t seen in web browsers that make my development exceptionally sassy are:
1. Full file type support: view/edit/save ability for over 100 file extensions- increasing productivity and reducing reliance on Microsoft/Adobe/Google, 2. User-created encryption keys (entropy wizard during onboarding and new profile creation) so they understand how it works and increases password compliance, and
3. Tailscale integration for parental controls among other things- The monitored human clicks on a download for something - the guardian human gets the auth request on their phone wherever they are- seamlessly present and aware of the monitored human’s activity.
Of course I wouldn’t want someone to steal my thunder- And i especially don’t want a tech-giant to bury me or my code-This is for the world, but I can’t have it open source for a number of reasons. It’s taken quite a lot of work to build this out.
Ultimately, I’m looking for backing and dev partners to flush out this dev project during the final sprints of this development. I’ve already sent a sync request to Sony for use of “Technologic” in a short X (formerly Twitter) video clip of a busy mom doing all the things she needed from one browser session. I’ve compiled letters to send to some of the devtoolangels but i’m hesitant without first reaching out into the community for verification/validation that what I have is worth bothering people individually.
