.ciao.su is a public second-level domain, and i hope that when adding a custom domain to projects, it will no longer be necessary to add TXT records.

Thanks for posting this here. As I can see, .ciao.su is not part of the https://publicsuffix.org/list/public_suffix_list.dat.

Vercel follows the Public Suffix List (PSL) to determine which domains require DNS verification. If .ciao.su isn’t currently on this list, you’d need to:

  1. Submit a request to add .ciao.su to the Public Suffix List at Submit amendments to the Public Suffix List
  2. Once it’s added to the PSL, let us know here and we’ll make the changes.

The TXT record verification exists as a security measure to prevent unauthorized domain additions, so domains need to be officially recognized as public suffixes first.
