So can I or can't I add custom domains with v0?

When all my projects in v0 automatically show up in vercel which is fine, but theres two paths that I see.

  1. I can add a custom domain when the project shows up in vercel
  2. when I work directly in Vo I’m prompted to buy a higher subscription to add a custom domain?

So my question is, if I wanted to stay in the hobby version wouldn’t I just add the custom domain in vercel? why does Vo not let me add a domain directly?

can someone explain the benefits/cons differences in the way I add a domain? Am I missing something?

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.

You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.

I see the confusion here. You can do what you said: use free v0 and add domains from Vercel project.

The v0 domains management gives you the unique ability to assign a custom domain to every new version of the project.

There’s no other downside of using the Vercel project’s Domain management.

Ah Thank you makes sense. does that mean I can put a new repo on github and connect a custom domain to that version? Please let me know. Thank you!

Hi @briancordero11, are you still facing the issue when using custom domains on the free v0 plan?

After talking to the team, I think there shouldn’t be a paywall for custom domains on the v0 custom domains feature.

Also, what you said is true: you can always add custom domains from Vercel. You don’t even have to create a GitHub repo because every v0 project is mapped to a Vercel project so you can go to that Project’s settings and add the custom domain.

Sounds great! When I try to sign up it shows me a page with a button and says the page doesn’t exist or might be private and a number 4887 to search site
