"Something went wrong. Please edit, retry or delete your message"

I have a project and I haven’t interacted with it for the past 58 days. Now when I go back in I get this message and it always says “reconnecting” and “connected” in the right corner, then I get “Something went wrong. Please edit, retry or delete your message” on the left side of the chat box.

The 58-day gap shouldn’t cause this issue on its own, so it’s likely a temporary connection problem between your browser and v0’s servers.

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies for v0.dev
  • Try a different browser or incognito/private mode
  • Check your network connection (corporate and university firewalls sometimes block WebSocket connections)
  • Refresh the page and wait a moment before trying to interact

If that doesn’t fix it, please share:

  • Which browser you’re using
  • Any console errors (F12 → Console tab)
  • The specific project URL or a screenshot of the error

I do have the exact same issue. Worked fine, now trying to change a minor thing. It says “reconnecting” and “connected” in the right corner, then I get “Something went wrong. Please edit, retry or delete your message”. I tried different browsers, different laptops, cleared the cache… all other projects are working just fine.

I have the exact same issue after a long break in between using v0 (potentially over the period of a few updates)

I tried all of your “things to try” section with no luck unfortunately…
I’ve tried on multiple days with no luck either.

I’m using chrome Version 138.0.7204.184 (Official Build) (64-bit)
There are no console errors

Just solved it by forking the project!

It stopped erroring in the new fork
