Sparkbites — Built a curated website directory, would love your feedback

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

I’ve been building Sparkbites for a while and I’d love for you to try it out and tell me what you think.

:link: https://sparkbites.dev

What it is

A curated directory of 500+ inspiring websites for designers and developers. Think of it as a spot to bookmark design work, find stack inspiration, or just
kill 10 minutes scrolling through beautiful sites.

What I’d love feedback on

  • The search experience — Cmd+K opens a full-text search with fuzzy matching across names, descriptions, stacks, fonts, and URLs. Does it feel fast?
Does it find what you expect?
  • Filters & browsing — Can you quickly find “portfolios built with Next.js using Inter” or does it get in the way?
  • DESIGN.md files — I’m experimenting with generating design system docs that AI agents can consume. Useful? Gimmick?
  • Performance — It’s running on Vercel + Supabase + ImageKit. Any slow spots?
  • What’s missing? — Features you’d expect that aren’t there.

Stack (in case you’re curious)

Next.js 16, React 19, Supabase (PostgreSQL with FTS + pg_trgm for typo-tolerant search), Tailwind v4, shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, nuqs, PostHog, ImageKit.
Monorepo with Turborepo.

How to try it

  1. Visit https://sparkbites.dev
  2. Hit Cmd+K and search for something (try typos — “nextjs”, “portflio”, “dribble”)
  3. Click around, browse by stack or color
  4. Tell me what broke, what felt off, or what made you smile

Any feedback — design, UX, performance, feature ideas, bug reports — is super welcome. Even a “this button feels weird” helps.

Thanks! :folded_hands:

Yes it works great! Side-note: I searched up 8bitcn by OrcDev. Cool to see that listed there

I tried this exact query and I’m not sure how relevant the results were… I did just search “portfolio” and it brought up some portfolios though, so that’s working!

Very interesting idea. Isn’t this something that Google Stitch introduced already?

Seems to be great performance-wise.

Can’t think of anything off the top of my head! Overall the UI is solid and it seems pretty featureful. Maybe, um, list my website  (just kidding)

Great job @educalvolpz
